1. How long have you been sewing? And who taught you how to sew?
I’ve been sewing for two years and am self taught.
2. What do you love the most about sewing?
How long have you got? Having a covid baby and then being furloughed the day I was due to return from maternity leave did a real number on my self confidence. Learning how to sew took me from feeling useless to feeling accomplished. Oh and sleeves! When I was restricted to a ready to wear wardrobe, anything in a woven fabric had to be sleeveless because my arms are (on average) three dress sizes larger than my high bust.
3. When did you discover Style Arc Sewing Patterns? And how many patterns have you made? Favourite pattern?
I discovered Style Arc very early on in my sewing journey when I kept on seeing them tagged on the posts of my favourite sewists. I have made five belle dresses so far and it is not only my favourite style arc pattern but my favourite pattern of all time. I have also made my daughter Vi several pairs of the SA pj set.
4. What is a piece of sewing advice that you give others? But don’t necessarily follow yourself?
Pick up a piece of ready to wear clothing and analyse it to find the imperfections, they will be there. Did you spot them before this exercise? Probably not. Now give yourself the same grace.
