CONSTRUCTION:
ELASTIC CASING:
Neaten each centre back seam with an overlocker or serger. With right sides facing sew the centre back seam stopping at the back split notch and press open.
Neaten around the elastic casing with an overlocker or serger.
With the right side of the top edge of the casing facing the wrong side of the back body, pin the top long edge of the casing to the body where marked on the pattern. Once in place sew together leaving 1cm (3/8”) free at both ends of the casing.
Press the seam allowance of the lower edge of the casing to the inside.
Pin the cut elastic at each short end to the inside of the casing at the 1cm (3/8”) seam allowance and sew together.
Fold the casing down so the elastic is encased, pin the casing to the body and sew an edge stitch down each short end and across the base of the casing (be careful not to catch the elastic as you sew along the base) to secure the casing in place. From the right side you will now have visible stitching around the casing.
Repeat this process for the front body.
SLEEVE TUCKS & BODY:
Following the notches pin the 3 tucks on the front and back sleeves, the tucks face upwards on the right side of the fabric.
With right sides facing sew the front and back shoulder seams together, as the shoulder seam runs to the end of the sleeve, this will secure the tucks in place. Neaten with an overlocker/serger and press towards the back.
With right sides facing fold the loop piece in half lengthways and sew the long edges together, turn out to the right side, make a loop shape and stitch across the ends to secure.
Pin the loop facing inwards to the left top back seam where marked on the pattern, once in place stitch it along the back seam line. Note once the back seam is sewn to the back neck facing the loop will face outward.
ROUND NECK FACING:
With right sides together sew the shoulder seams of the round neck facings together, press the seams open. Neaten the outer edges of the facing with an overlocker/serger.

Clip into the neck seam and the back neck corners. Turn out to the right side and understitch close to the seam on the side of the facing. The loop will be facing outwards now.

With right sides together sew the front and back shoulder seams of the facing together and press open. Neaten the outer edges of the facing with an overlocker/serger.
