Choosing your pattern size is the most important step and we will help you determine this with these easy to follow steps.
Place the tape at the edge of the shoulder. Measure along the top of the shoulder blade/across the highest point of the shoulders to the other edge, following the natural slope and allow an extra finger for ease of any movement.
This point is taken as a circumference at your widest point of your upper arm.
This point is taken as a circumference parallel to the floor at the fullest part of your chest.
This point is taken as a circumference and taken at the smallest part of your waist.
This point is taken as a circumference parallel to the floor at the widest part of your hips.

The fit is perfect and its a beautiful finished dress. I used rayon but will make it again in something slightly firmer. The pattern is fabulous. My only feedback is to include more instructions. I had problems working out how to attach the ties to the front and then how to finish the binding over the skirt and top seam. I fudged it another way and it worked out, but this was frustrating. I hate making binding out of slippery fabric so used premade bias binding and that worked wonderfully. I’m definitely making this one again.

I loved making this dress its such a straightforward easy to follow pattern a bit of love and hate with the ruffles at one point as I used a slippery fabric so hemming was a tad fiddly but got there in the end. The sizing was spot on for my shape and fits so well #51japes

Very cute dress, easy to wear. I reduced the amount of ruffle along the bottom as my fabric was a little stiffer than I would have prefered, but I was using what I had. The front neck binding could use a notch. My front neckline stretched out after basting the flounce on so my binding sended up short. This caused the front neck to gape. I went back and took up the excess and now its fine.
Armhole binding came out perfect. I cut mine on the bias for smoother fit.

I bought a single size 8 paper pattern and added 4cm at the hip for my size 10 hips. I used a vintage silk crepe de chine bought from an ASG sewing retreat. The dress fits perfectly, it is a truly lovely dress, very flattering, the wrap stays in place and the neck flounce is gorgeous.
