CONSTRUCTION:
SHOULDER SEAMS:
To make the felled seams, place fabric right sides together, and stitch the 1.2 cm (1/2”) seam. Press towards the back, then trim 0.5 cm (1/4”) off the edge closest to the garment when folded.
Fold the longer edge over the one you have just trimmed and tuck it under with the seam towards the back. Top stitch the seam close to the edge.
SCARF SEAM:
Repeating the same process as the shoulder seams, sew a short end of the scarf to the neck of the right front with a felled seam.
Carefully fold the outer edges of the cape towards the inside, and then again so you have a rolled edge. Pin it into place, then top stitch close to the inside fold.
Take it slowly; when you get to the ends, do a back tack, remove the work and start on the next edge, creating a creating a nice corner.
Carefully press the edges, and give your new cape a press.
