CONSTRUCTION:
FOR THE SOFT V-NECK, ROUND NECK AND ROUNDED SQUARE NECK:
With RST, sew the front and back side seams together, followed by sewing the front and back shoulder seams together.
Neaten the seams with an overlocker/serger and press to the back.
Neaten the neck, armhole openings and the hem with an overlocker/serger.
Turn the neck opening at the notch to the inside 1cm (3/8”), pin in place.
Stitch the neck turn back with a 6mm (1/4”) top stitch or a twin needle.
Turn the arm openings at the notch to the inside 1cm (3/8”) pin in place.
Stitch the armholes turnback with a 6mm (1/4”) top stitch or a twin needle.
Turn the hem to the inside at the notch 2cm (3/4”) pin and top stitch into place with a single stitch or twin needle.
Trim any loose threads and carefully press your new top!
FOR THE BOAT NECK:
Neaten the front and back neck opening with an overlocker/serger.
Using the notch, turn the front and back neck openings to the inside, pin into place.
Stitch the front and back neck turnback with a 6mm (1/4”) top stitch or a twin needle.
With RST, sew the front to back side seams together followed by sewing the front and back shoulder seams together.
Neaten all seams with an overlocker/serger and press to the back.
Make a small bar tack to secure the shoulder seams at the neck edge.
Neaten the arm opening and hem with an overlocker/serger.
Using the notch, turn the arm openings to the inside 1cm (3/8”), pin in place.
Stitch the armholes with a 6mm (1/4”) top stitch or a twin needle.
Turn the hem to the inside at the notch 2cm (3/4”) pin and top stitch into place with a single stitch or twin needle.
Trim off any loose threads and carefully press your new top!
