CONSTRUCTION:
With right sides facing sew the length of the loop, turn it out to the right side, make a loop shape and stitch it into the left back neck as noted in the pattern.
Neaten the centre back seams with overlocker/serger and sew the seams together, from the hemline up to the notch that indicates the neck opening, clip into the notch. Press the centre back seam open.
With right sides facing sew the shoulder seams of the front and back body together, neaten seam with overlocker/serger and press toward the back.
Fuse front and back neck facings. With right sides together sew the shoulder seams of the neck facings and press open.
With right sides facing sew the lower centre back facing seams togetheruntil the split notch. Press this seam open and overlock/serge around thE outer edge of the neck facing.
With right sides together sew the neck facing to the neck of the body, matching shoulder seams and centre front. Turn to the right side and understitch as far as you can close to the seam on the side of the neck facing.
With right sides together sew the back split on the bodice to the split on the back facing, stitch from the neckline down to the base of the opening. Repeat for the opposite side followed by understitching each side of the split on the side of the facing.
Sew a small stitch to the shoulder seam of the facing and the shoulder of the body to hold the facing in place.
Sew the bust darts and press downward.
With right sides facing sew the front and back side seams together, overlock/serge the seams and press toward the back.
Double turn the hem of the body and stitch.
With right sides facing sew the under-sleeve seams together, overlock/serge the seam and press toward the back followed by overlocking/serging the sleeve hem.
With right sides facing sew the short edges of the sleeve frill seams together, overlock/serge and press towards the front.
Sew a narrow hem to both edges of the frill and press.
Sew a large gathering stitch around the top of the frill following the notches on the pattern, draw the gathering stitch in to match the sleeve opening.
Pin the frill, through the gathered stitch line, to the sleeve opening, matching the gathered seam to the sleeve opening. Once in place, top stitch the frill to the sleeve on top of the gathered stitch line.
Sew a large stitch to the head of the sleeve and slightly draw in, this makes it easier to set the sleeve into the armhole.
With right sides facing sew the sleeves into the armholes, overlock/serge the armhole seam and press toward the sleeve.
Sew the button on the right neck in line with the loop.
Press your new top.
