Fuse the stabilizer to the wrong side of the back neck. With right sides together sew the centre back seam, overlock/serge, press the seam towards the wearers left.
With right sides together sew the back panels to the side back panels, overlock / serge and press the seams toward the centre back.
With right sides together sew the side front panels to the front panels, overlock/serge and press the seams toward the centre front. Fuse the stabilizer to the armholes, front neck and centre front.
With right sides facing sew the front shoulder seams to the back shoulder seams, overlock/serge and press toward the back.
With wrong sides together fold the binding in half lengthways and sew a stay stitch holding the two raw edges together, with right sides together sew the raw edges of the binding to the neckline, note the binding is slightly stretched on. Sew a flat stitch/under stitch close to the seam on the side of the binding then pin the binding to the inside ready for the top stitch (completed in step 12).
Press the front vertical seam inward at first notch and press, with right sides together fold the front down the fold line that is marked on the pattern. Stitch across the top of the neckline, clip the corner and turn out to the right side. Repeat this process for the hemline, press and pin the turn back in place ready for the top stitch.
Fold the inside arm bind in half lengthways wrong sides together and sew a stay-stitch holding the raw edges together. Place ready to sew the raw edges to the armholes, note the binding is slightly stretched on. Sew a flat stitch/under stitch close to the seam on the side of the binding and pin the binding to the inside ready for the top stitch (completed in step 12).
Sew the front and back side seams together, stitch through the binding.
If using a contrast stitch colour for the twin needle seams and single top stitch change the thread at this point.
Sew a twin needle top stitch down the side front on the side of the front panel followed by sewing a twin needle down the side back on the side of the back panel followed by sewing a twin needle down the centre back seam of the side of the wears left.
Sew a single top stitch down either side of the front turn back followed by sewing a single top stitch around the neck and armholes.
Turn the hem to the inside and sew down with a top stitch.
Buttonhole or stud the front panel as marked on the pattern.
Press your new dress.
