Neaten each side of the front cowl collar extension between the notches by sewing a double turned narrow hem. See the markings on the pattern.

With right sides facing sew the centre front seams together, stitch from the centre front notch down to the hemline. Neaten with an overlocker/serger and press toward the wearers right.

With right sides facing sew the front sleeve to the front armhole. Neaten with an overlocker/serger and press towards the body.

With right sides facing sew the centre back seams together. Neaten with an overlocker/serger and press towards the wearers right.

With right sides facing sew the back sleeves to the back bodice. Neaten with an overlocker/serger and press towards the body.

With right sides facing sew the back and front shoulder seams together, starting at the back neck notch (leaving a 1cm/3/8” neck seam free to attach the collar at a later stage) stitch down to the sleeve opening. Neaten with an overlocker/serger and press towards the back. Pin in place so that the back neck seams will be correct when sewn.

With the garment lying flat with the right sides on the outer, cross over the front neck extension with the wearers right on top of the wearer left.

With right sides facing sew the centre back seams of the cowl collar extension together and press open.

Fold the back neck of the extension in half with the right side on the outer and stay stich the raw edges together from A-A.

Pin the back neck to the back neck of the collar extension, matching A-A at the shoulders. Once in place stitch together then neaten with an overlocker/serger.

With right sides facing sew the back and front side seams together. Neaten with an overlocker/serger and press towards the back.

Neaten the sleeve openings with an overlocker/serger. Cut the elastic to your personal length and stitch the two short ends together.

Lay the elastic at the notch indicating the sleeve hem turnback, cover the elastic with the turnback and stitch the casing down covering the elastic as you sew.

Neaten the hem with an overlocker/serger then turn to the inside topstitch the hem.

Press your new top.
