I love the pattern, it fits beautiful, but… the instructions are way too sparse especially for a non native speaker.
I’m German and would really wish for more detailed informations and a few pictures or a video. Currently I’m working at my second jacket.

I LOVE the style and lines of this pattern. I took my measurements and found out what size to order according to the website.
However, I was going to make a lined jacket so decided to size up one size, then thought again and sized up two sizes. It is too small to line, and only loose enough to go over a lite t shirt. So it will make a lovely blouse.

Similar to the other reviews, the jacket is fantastic but the directions are largely incomprehensible for such a complex garment. Fortunately there are comprehensive, step by step instructions on the web. The end result should get 5 stars but the instructions let the pattern down badly.

If I was reviewing the finished product it would be 5 stars – I love it! The fit is great, and it looks lovely. But the instructions are nowhere near comprehensive enough for a project like a jacket. I know StyleArc instructions are always sparse, but these were extremely so! I just ignored them in the end, and constructed it on instinct – fine if you have experience, but not so for a beginner. It’s a shame, as it’s not a difficult pattern, so it would be perfect for a beginner if the instructions were clearer.

I am thrilled with my new Cindy jacket! I saw one last year (rtw), but was out of stock. This year I decided I have plenty of time(than you, Rona) and found my fabric and got busy. Took me one day to prep pattern and then about 3 days of sewing; I am a perfectionist! I did a full bicep adjustment and it fits beautifully! I used the selvage edge which is slightly frayed for the neck ruffle. It will not fray any further. Thanks for a great pattern. I plan to do the Stacie with some printed cotton.

The jacket looks really good. However, next time I’ll size up since it’s quite close fitting and can only be worn over a light tee. Also, I omitted the welt pockets (which keeps the lines clean) because the directions were hopeless. I had to recut the front panels and start over.

Love my new jacket. My first attempt at making a jeans jacket and my machine struggled with the medium weight denim. But am thrilled with the results. Found the instructions for the welt pocket a tad confusing, haven’t sewn this type of pocket before, but a few blogs on the web were very helpful and I’m thrilled with the outcome. Thanks to the Style Arc team.

How Do I Know What Size I Am?
Choosing your pattern size is the most important step and we will help you determine this with these easy to follow steps.
When taking your measurements ensure that you take them against your skin and not over clothing. One can wear a comfortable bra and knickers whilst measuring, as this will provide you with the most accurate measurements.
Tape measure has to sit firmly around the points you are measuring. But be careful not to pull it too tight, as this will give you the incorrect size.
When measuring circumferences (B, C, D, E) it is important to note that the tape measure must remain parallel to the floor. It is sometimes best to take the measurements in front of a mirror; this will help you see the angle of the tape measure.
You will only require the basic body measurements to determine your pattern size which is indicated on our mannequin below:
A. Shoulder Breadth
Place the tape at the edge of the shoulder. Measure along the top of the shoulder blade/across the highest point of the shoulders to the other edge, following the natural slope and allow an extra finger for ease of any movement.
B. Upper Arm Girth
This point is taken as a circumference at your widest point of your upper arm.
C. Bust
This point is taken as a circumference parallel to the floor at the fullest part of your chest.
D. Waist
This point is taken as a circumference and taken at the smallest part of your waist.
E. Hip
This point is taken as a circumference parallel to the floor at the widest part of your hips.
