A very successful pattern! I like it very much! I used a ponteroma fabric and a bit of veil. Very easy to sew! iThe instructions are clear and easy even for a beginner! At least your patterns fit me perfectly and I will buy more!

I made this with a fleeceback Jersey lovely pattern, found the introductions a bit confusing as they lack some details , a person new to sewing would be very confused , my only thing wrong with my make was the sleeves were a bit tight though that could have been the fabric I used so would just make a little bigger next time.

Made this pattern in a size 14 with a merino jacquard fabric and it drapes beautifully. Very flattering. The pattern itself although structurally quite easy, could have used a few more words left and right. I am not a novice sewist but also not a native English speaker so for instance, to mention a bit more clearly you need to cut the neckband 4 times (2 times 2 opposites) would have saved me a lot of hassle! It is not that the information is not there, its just very condensed so need to read it carefully. To see how it turned out see: https://www.instagram.com/p/CZeFqt4srrN/

I made this from maybe viscose knit from fabric swap so deep stash – came it larger than I expected but wearable – the kick out at the hip seems too much for me. Other SA patterns fit me well.

Another great pattern from Style Arc! I made this one in a modal french terry and it turned out beautiful. The size was spot on and I did not make any alterations, which is one of the reasons why I love Style Arc patterns so much. This pattern takes more fabric than you may think at first, because of the rounded shape of the neck-/hemband. But still it is worth it because the shape is very flattering for a figuere like mine.

I love this jacket. It was so quick and easy to make. My fabric was reasonably stable, a rib knit with a light bonded backing, so about the weight of a Ponte with drape and It makes a stylish extra layer to wear between seasons.

I made my first one using slightly heavier fabric than suggested. The second one I made with lighter fabric. Both turned out well. It does take extra fabric due to the curved front edges, but that is what makes the pattern. I have also used the back panel with the band to make a top using the back hacked to be a V-neck with the band. So I’ve made 3 different items with this pattern and I’m looking forward to making another using the band in a contrasting fabric for interest.

I’ve had great results with Style Arc patterns for pants. But this one threw me s curve ball! I went with the measurements and it came out huge. Had to pick out sll that understitching and take it in from the underarms to the bottom. Not fun. Still doesn’t fit like the drawing on the pattern. Won’t make it again. Have to wear it because the fabric was super gorgeous drapy ponte.

I made this from a length of Ponte that had been languishing in my stash! I absolutely love it. The pattern markings and instructions were excellent. I am so pleased that I interfaced the collar pieces and they sit perfectly!

This is the first time I’ve used a Style Arc pattern so didn’t know what to expect. I’m a reasonably experienced sewer but have only used printed patterns before, all from the likes of Simplicity, Burda, etc. I really struggled with the very limited instructions on how to construct the neck band, and after sewing it on the wrong way, had to unpick it and start again. The arms are too tight and I don’t like the way the neckband folds over. So, I’ve thrown my original garment in the recycling bin and have altered the pattern so it will fit and look ok the next time I try it!

How Do I Know What Size I Am?

Choosing your pattern size is the most important step and we will help you determine this with these easy to follow steps.

  1. When taking your measurements ensure that you take them against your skin and not over clothing. One can wear a comfortable bra and knickers whilst measuring, as this will provide you with the most accurate measurements.
  2. Tape measure has to sit firmly around the points you are measuring. But be careful not to pull it too tight, as this will give you the incorrect size.
  3. When measuring circumferences (B, C, D, E) it is important to note that the tape measure must remain parallel to the floor. It is sometimes best to take the measurements in front of a mirror; this will help you see the angle of the tape measure.
  4. You will only require the basic body measurements to determine your pattern size which is indicated on our mannequin below:
A. Shoulder Breadth

Place the tape at the edge of the shoulder. Measure along the top of the shoulder blade/across the highest point of the shoulders to the other edge, following the natural slope and allow an extra finger for ease of any movement.

B. Upper Arm Girth

This point is taken as a circumference at your widest point of your upper arm.

C. Bust

This point is taken as a circumference parallel to the floor at the fullest part of your chest.

D. Waist

This point is taken as a circumference and taken at the smallest part of your waist.

E. Hip

This point is taken as a circumference parallel to the floor at the widest part of your hips.
