Lovely top that came together quickly and easily. Shortened the neck band a little, widened the neckband due to the fabric I used and in the future will lengthen the torso by an 1 inch at the shorten and lengthen line. I have worn this top several times and have received compliments every time. I do have plans to make more of these tops for summer, and plans for a couple of winter tops also. Well done Style Arc.

Hello, I liked this pattern, found it easy to make and the size is good, made using a printed 2-way stretch jersey fabric, I would make this top again.

I love this pattern. It fits really well. I adjusted for my narrow shoulders and had to shorten the neckband as it was way too long. I put stay tape at the armholes and neck prior to sewing up. I was nervous of hemming the pointy ends, but in fact it was ok. I shall make this again and again. Thankyou, Style Arc.

Once I completed my usual narrow forward rotation shoulder, this was dream to make. I have sewn 2 tops both in a buttery, soft 4 way jersey knit.
I am considering lengthening this top to a dress length.

I made this top in Poly/spandex Jersey and it is stunning, it drapes beautifully. The fit is true to size.
A fabulous pattern and very easy to put together. I will definitely be making more of these.
I did lengthen the sleeve length by 5cm, which now has the sleeve sitting right on my elbow.

I finished my swing top today. Used my serger to assemble it. Fast and easy and I love the flattering cut. I need to order some more fabric to make more tops!

I used a Floral Print Jersey fabric. It was quite stretchy, so be careful when you cut it. I also used stay tape on the neck band, shoulder seams, armscye and hems.

I extended the arm length to 3/4 sleeves.

Overall, it was quite easy to sew and it fits comfortably.

Love this top although I did shorten the neckband slightly. Elbow length sleeves are great for those with less than good upper arms like myself. Will no doubt make plenty more versions of this top.

I love this pattern, so easy!! HOWEVER I made mine with an ITY knit and my neck band was too big, looked stretched. I was extremely careful to not stretch it and I think it was the ITY fabric, though it draped beautifully. I do love this pattern and will shorten the neck band next time for a better neck finish.

Easy to make and it fits well (size 12). I agree that more detailed sewing instructions would be helpful. I had to add about four inches to the neck band to get it to fit the neck edge. I used a walking foot and a stretch stitch for the knit fabric and that worked well.

    Another wonderful stylearc top.
I’m 175cm tall so I made mine 3cm longer than the pattern but it could have been even longer again.
The top was very easy to make in black crepe and it hangs beautifully – I think it would make a great dress.
Again, I wish I’d made a full bust adjustment but I didn’t because I’m a tad anxious about trying!!
Does anyone have any good tips about where to learn to do a FBA please?

Completed my first top today. Really like the fit and multiple size pattern that helped achieve it. Wish there were more sewing instructions and tips. I did re-enforce the shoulder seams but maybe could have used a better product to do that with. A little more input from the instructions would have helped. Any tips or tricks for working with knits would have been great. I seriously searched the product envelope for more in-depth instructions, I thought surely this can’t be all there is! But it was.

How Do I Know What Size I Am?

Choosing your pattern size is the most important step and we will help you determine this with these easy to follow steps.

  1. When taking your measurements ensure that you take them against your skin and not over clothing. One can wear a comfortable bra and knickers whilst measuring, as this will provide you with the most accurate measurements.
  2. Tape measure has to sit firmly around the points you are measuring. But be careful not to pull it too tight, as this will give you the incorrect size.
  3. When measuring circumferences (B, C, D, E) it is important to note that the tape measure must remain parallel to the floor. It is sometimes best to take the measurements in front of a mirror; this will help you see the angle of the tape measure.
  4. You will only require the basic body measurements to determine your pattern size which is indicated on our mannequin below:
A. Shoulder Breadth

Place the tape at the edge of the shoulder. Measure along the top of the shoulder blade/across the highest point of the shoulders to the other edge, following the natural slope and allow an extra finger for ease of any movement.

B. Upper Arm Girth

This point is taken as a circumference at your widest point of your upper arm.

C. Bust

This point is taken as a circumference parallel to the floor at the fullest part of your chest.

D. Waist

This point is taken as a circumference and taken at the smallest part of your waist.

E. Hip

This point is taken as a circumference parallel to the floor at the widest part of your hips.
