Easy slip-on dress with an extended shoulder, square line bodice and slightly gathered skirt.
Slip into the fabulous Lacey Knit Dress. It’s easy to make and easy to wear. Lacey will work with either knit or woven fabrics. Sitting on the waist, Lacey has a slightly gathered skirt with side pockets.
The interesting bodice has an extended shoulder line that creates a short sleeve that can be worn straight or rolled. The bodice has clever design lines that allow directional stripes or mixed textures.

Choosing your pattern size is the most important step and we will help you determine this with these easy to follow steps.
Place the tape at the edge of the shoulder. Measure along the top of the shoulder blade/across the highest point of the shoulders to the other edge, following the natural slope and allow an extra finger for ease of any movement.
This point is taken as a circumference at your widest point of your upper arm.
This point is taken as a circumference parallel to the floor at the fullest part of your chest.
This point is taken as a circumference and taken at the smallest part of your waist.
This point is taken as a circumference parallel to the floor at the widest part of your hips.

Great pattern, I’ve made three already. Great in a lightweight linen for summer. I changed the pockets- used the pocket pattern from the Barry pants and attached them to the waistband rather than doing in seam pockets. I also narrowed the neckline and used bias binding rather than facing. I find bias binding sits better and I think it looks neater.

I like the look a lot; I made the dress just like the avatar with a thin blue and white stripe. It was fairly easy to sew, all I added was some top stitching in the bodice.
I’ve never really liked dresses with yolks as they always bunch and pop up, but SA yolks tends to stay down and can’t be seen when wearing.
The fit is rather loose, so I would say that if you’re pear shaped (like me) maybe size down?
