Great sweatshirt pattern. I made up in a med-wt sweatshirt material with seams on arms, neck and cuff to the front. Also eliminated the short sleeve cuff and extended the sleeve to a long sleeve with fabric cuff. Mine is too full throughout the body so would shape down the body in another version and even make a smaller size in a lighter fabric.
Great addition to my wardrobe with many, many kudos.

I tried to sew this in a beautiful soft thick and cozy fleece. Though the fleece is a suggested fabric for this pattern I will never make it in fleece of this type again. It was way too bulky. Folding it over to create the collar hem and cuffs was a disaster and looked like I attached marshmallows to the top. I ended up completely removing the collar hem and cuffs leaving all the edges raw. Then I blanket stitched them in a pretty contrasting embroidery thread. I also halved the lower hems instead of folding them over and blanket stitched the raw edges too. Ended up looking nice after the alterations, but took much longer to complete the project, and had a lot of wasted fleece.
If you use fleece make sure its a fairly thin and looks good quadruple folded (like they are in cuffs for this pattern). Would probably like this pattern in a less bulky fabric.

I’m surprised how much I like this top and how stylish it looks. Perfect to layer over a long sleeve knit tee with jeans. Very simple to sew but the shoulder and sleeve detail elevate it above a crew neck hoodie/sweater.

Love this pattern! It is simple to sew but very fashionable. My first Portsea was sewn in a grey French Terry; my 29-year-old daughter tried it on and wore it home that night. Knowing I will never get that one back, I just finished one for me in a sage green mid-weight interlock which worked up very well; it is just the right weight for summer. I may not show this one to my daughter…I might find it missing from my closet!

I made these in French Terry and the Brooklyn knit pants in a sweater knit. Very happy with both, such well drafted patterns. Only suggestion is to use a walking foot if you have one. Such a flatter seam finish.

This pattern makes up in a breeze, and is super comfy and stylish to boot. Bonus factor is that I was able to use just one yard of fabric for this one! I’ll be making more. Highly recommend.

How Do I Know What Size I Am?
Choosing your pattern size is the most important step and we will help you determine this with these easy to follow steps.
When taking your measurements ensure that you take them against your skin and not over clothing. One can wear a comfortable bra and knickers whilst measuring, as this will provide you with the most accurate measurements.
Tape measure has to sit firmly around the points you are measuring. But be careful not to pull it too tight, as this will give you the incorrect size.
When measuring circumferences (B, C, D, E) it is important to note that the tape measure must remain parallel to the floor. It is sometimes best to take the measurements in front of a mirror; this will help you see the angle of the tape measure.
You will only require the basic body measurements to determine your pattern size which is indicated on our mannequin below:
A. Shoulder Breadth
Place the tape at the edge of the shoulder. Measure along the top of the shoulder blade/across the highest point of the shoulders to the other edge, following the natural slope and allow an extra finger for ease of any movement.
B. Upper Arm Girth
This point is taken as a circumference at your widest point of your upper arm.
C. Bust
This point is taken as a circumference parallel to the floor at the fullest part of your chest.
D. Waist
This point is taken as a circumference and taken at the smallest part of your waist.
E. Hip
This point is taken as a circumference parallel to the floor at the widest part of your hips.
