Tommie skirt turned out great. I made size 10, no changes to pattern. The fit is great and there is room to walk and move. I used a lightweight denim from my stash, top stitched in upholstery weight thread. I love the skirt and will definitely make this pattern again

It’s been a while since I have had a well fitting denim skirt in my wardrobe. I have just finished making the Tommie for myself and wore it for the first time today. It is gloriously comfortable. Construction wise this pattern is very straight forward and if you have had experience sewing jeans it is very similar to that with all the distinct characteristics that make up a traditional jeans skirt. I lengthened mine by 4 inches because I am much taller than what it is drafted for and this added length was perfect! I made this skit using a rigid denim remnant I had left over from making a pair of jeans for my teen son. I wouldn’t go for anything too stretchy as it would grow on you. Stick with the rigid denim for that classic look. Well done to the StyleArc team for producing yet another brilliant pattern for us all to enjoy.

This skirt is great, I love it. I made it in a lightweight denim fabric, size 10 no pattern adjustments. The instructions were quite clear and after reading the front split instructions a couple of times it worked out well. There is a perfect amount of ease in this pattern for me, its very comfortable to wear and walk in. Thanks Style Arc

I’ve made the skirt twice. The first time was a disaster as I couldn’t follow the zip and centre front seam instructions. The second time, I did my own thing and it turned out well. I used the threads front fly method (https://www.threadsmagazine.com/project-guides/fit-and-sew-pants/a-simple-fly-front-zipper-video) and I increased the protruding section at the bottom front by 1 cm so I could double fold it on both sides (had to remove this extra fabric on the underside though). I’m really glad I persevered.

I’m 5’10, so added 3 inches and love the way the skirt looks with wedge heels. I used the instructions on my zipper’s package to ensure I sewed in the zipper correctly. I plan to make one more denim skirt in another color.

Love this skirt. Made it in cinnamon-coloured denim. Next time I will use contrasting cotton for the top stitching.

The pattern looks great. But I did not make the skirt yet. Suppose it is not so difficult. Going to make it from dark blue jeans.
