This relaxed designer jean sits comfortably on the waist due to the shaped band.
The patch pockets are cleverly drafted to sit neatly into the design lines of the pant, there are darts coming from the hemline that gives this jean the new shape.
Fabric Suggestion
Denim, drill, cotton or any woven fabric suitable for pants.
Trims
1x metal jean zip 15 cm (6")
1 x button or snap 17 mm / 26L

I found this quite a challenging make – partially because I am quite a new sewist and so things like the the fly, wasitband, and yoke were new for me. However, with the help of some video tutorials those parts all went fine. The part that did not go fine was the pockets… I could not get those right! I also struggled with the fit, I found them to be very long in the crotch and would need to make adjustments for that next time. I also have a big variation between my waist to hip sizing and although I have a trouser block to help with that, the pocket placement made it difficult for me to get my head around. All that said… I will make another pair with amendments to the crotch length, and until I get that right I may just apply patch pockets 😀
I did get compliments when I wore them to work, so that was nice 🙂

I have just finished making these lovely stylish jeans. I made them in a slightly heavy weight stretch denim. The first pocket I stitched in I cut into the corner first because I couldn’t get the pins in…mistake! The second pocket I stitched down to the corner on both sides of the pocket then snipped into the corners before sewing the bottom of the pocket. I don’t think I would’ve had the same problem if the fabric was lighter. However I managed to get around the first pocket without it showing the over snipped corner.

Nothing to say about the model itself, I have not made it yet. But I am severely disapointed about 2 things : I bought a pdf with 3 sizes -hoping that it will be less overload to assemble and use. I had bought previously another pdf with all sizes, and it was nested so I figured it was the same thing, juste with not so many sizes. I need to grade between sizes, my bottom, high hips and waist are not the same. Halas there the sizes are all on different files. Cannot grade in-between.
I asked immediatly about the possibility to buy an upgrade, and got no answer from the SAV, not even a “No”. That is the second thing that disapointed me.

I’ve had so many compliments when wearing these jeans. Adding the top stitching makes them look shop bought. It’s great to find a pattern that fits.
I noticed a comment above said about adding to the length, I would always check the pattern against the length required and adjust the pattern accordingly.

I also found these a little challenging but if you go slow and read everything twice, it all goes together well. Next time I will shorten the crutch to waist as I am short. I love these pants, I made them in linen and they are comfortable as well as smart.

I just finished my first pair of Victor Jeans. The pattern was “challenging” but in a very good way. I relearned techniques I have not used in awhile such as the true fly zipper and attaching a waistband. Following the directions carefully and opting to look at a purchased pair of jeans when necessary helped a great deal. I agree with a previous review that the pants length is shorter than expected. I am only 5’1″ tall, but prefer my pants to cover my ankle. I did not shorten the pattern yet I found the pants to be the perfect length for me. I have purchased material to make 2 more Victors; they are perfect for the summer. Very stylish jeans!

The fit of the Victor Woven Jean pattern is wonderful. One of the reasons I use StyleArc Patterns is because of the added length through the back crotch. The shape on the narrowed leg is trendsetting. Made my Jeans in a non stretch 100% cotton denim. Did find the front fly zipper instructions a bit difficult to follow, but as I consider myself and experienced sewer, I was able to navigate through using other instructions….But I would certainly would recommend this pattern for sewers looking for stylish jeans.

I made these up in a chartreuse linen, much the same as depicted on pattern. They’re gorgeous with all the twin stitching. What I love is that I don’t need to alter the pattern. You can totally trust the size guide.

Loved the look of this pattern and it sewed up really well. The only comment i would make is that it is much shorter in the leg than the illustration would suggest. I lengthened the legs by 4″ to achieve ankle length, and i’m 5’7″ tall. So check the leg length, make your adjustments, and create a great pair of pants.

How Do I Know What Size I Am?
Choosing your pattern size is the most important step and we will help you determine this with these easy to follow steps.
When taking your measurements ensure that you take them against your skin and not over clothing. One can wear a comfortable bra and knickers whilst measuring, as this will provide you with the most accurate measurements.
Tape measure has to sit firmly around the points you are measuring. But be careful not to pull it too tight, as this will give you the incorrect size.
When measuring circumferences (B, C, D, E) it is important to note that the tape measure must remain parallel to the floor. It is sometimes best to take the measurements in front of a mirror; this will help you see the angle of the tape measure.
You will only require the basic body measurements to determine your pattern size which is indicated on our mannequin below:
A. Shoulder Breadth
Place the tape at the edge of the shoulder. Measure along the top of the shoulder blade/across the highest point of the shoulders to the other edge, following the natural slope and allow an extra finger for ease of any movement.
B. Upper Arm Girth
This point is taken as a circumference at your widest point of your upper arm.
C. Bust
This point is taken as a circumference parallel to the floor at the fullest part of your chest.
D. Waist
This point is taken as a circumference and taken at the smallest part of your waist.
E. Hip
This point is taken as a circumference parallel to the floor at the widest part of your hips.
