    Nice to make, fits nicely.

5 stars because I am very happy with the finished top. Next time I will slightly reduce the length of the neckband.
    Instructions were adequate.
I am going to lengthen to a dress next time. Lovely pattern.

This was a really easy and good top to make. I made it up in a mint and cream cotton viscose striped knit. Everything matched beautifully. I prefer the neck band to lie flat so I shortened it by 5 cm and stretched it onto the neck edge. I have found Stylearc’s neckbands too long with another pattern as well. For the rest I only had to shorten the top above the waist as I am fairly short at 154 cm.
My worry that the pocket would gape and drape was unfounded. Perhaps to do with the fabric choice. I am enjoying wearing it and I’ll make it again.
It would be great to see Stylearc expand into patterns for short lengths and styles

The end result is a cute top, but the markings and instructions leave a lot to interpretation. Style Arc — are you listening?

This pattern has become my go to jersey top. Made it first in an animal print and was really pleased with the great drafting. Every piece fits exactly as it should. True to size without adjustments.
My second top is in a stretch cotton shirting material. No need for a neck opening. As it slides over my head.
Love the pockets and have considered making a dress by lengthening pattern.
Great top., easy to sew, just follow the simple instructions.

The 3 stars are because I ended up making something I like to wear. If I was rating this pattern on the instructions I would have given it one star! I find that Style Arc patterns have terrible instructions in general (and I am an intermediate sewist).

Very easy make (once I figured out which way up the pockets went i.e.curved bit at the bottom). Fitting the sleeves which had a few flummoxed wasnā€™t a problem for me….match the markers and you canā€™t go wrong. Very pleased with results.

I too had difficulty attaching the sleeve. On the instructional diagram where you see “sleeve seam” it took me some time to figure out that that seam is the curved seam on pattern piece #4. When stitched the sleeve piece can be easily attached to piece #2 – the side panel. I hope this helps!!

I should add, Style Arc patterns are superbly drafted with great styling details that make them so desirable. But what makes the patterns unique in some cases, can also make them tricky to sew. The sleeve attachment and side seams of the Ada Top are an example. Like another poster commented, I completely hand basted the top together to see how the seams went together and determine which seams could be serged/finished in one step. It took me awhile before figuring it out!

Although the pattern calls for knits, I made it out of a drapey woven. I wasn’t sure if it would work, so I read about the possibility of converting a knit to a woven. Due to the fairly straight forward seaming, lack of zippers, buttons, and a collar, I went forward, going up one size to accommodate for the lack of stretch. I really liked the sleeve styling and pocket placement at the sides.

This is a really nice t-shirt pattern. It’s styled very well, and the pieces fit together to make the final garment drape. I used a light to medium weight cotton-lycra knit and found that to be perfect for the pattern.
This was the first StyleArc pattern I’ve sewn, and initially, I was concerned because reviews elsewhere comment on how terse the instructions are. But I think that if you’ve had any experience sewing with knits before, you should be fine with the instructions.
The only somewhat tricky part involved attaching the sleeves to the front, back, and side panels. I had to pin the whole thing together to see what was going on, and then it all made sense.
My experience with this pattern really made me want to sew more StyleArc garments!

This is a great fun top – I have made two and will be making more. Depending on the fabric, it can be very casual or elegantly dressy.

This is a great pattern. I made one in singles jersey and then a second of a cotton and Lycra knit that I lengthened into a cute dress to wear over yoga clothes.
This was my first Style Arc pattern, and it took a little while to understand the directions. I had to remake the sleeves, because I didnā€™t understand that the first seam to sew was the curved edge.

Great design and have received many compliments. I have made 2 already with more in the works. Due to the generous design ease my normal FBA was not needed.

I LOVE this pattern. I have made it three times now. Once in a rayon jersey and the other two in a bamboo blend. All tops turned out great. I love the design and I hoped the pockets would not add to the hips and they didn’t. Maybe because they drape and don’t stick out? Either way, this pattern is a winner and I’m so glad I picked it up.

This is my first SA pattern that I tried and I really loved the result. I made a muslin first and made two adjustments. I raised the neckline by 1″ to make it more flattering on me and I added about 1 1/2 ” overall to the length.
Directions are fairly good (albeit a bit sparse) and I got very confused by the sleeve instructions…but one email to SA and they answered my questions…and voila! Fits great and will make more.

This is only my second time using a pdf pattern and I am really enjoy the whole process of printing and matching together and then transferring onto Swedish tracing paper.

I loved this design as soon as I saw it. I added 2 inches to the length, lowering the pockets in the process and it is perfect. I used a ribbed jersey. It is a very comfortable design to wear

It’s a very straight forward pattern to use. I just love it! I’ve now made it three times now.

I am also now wondering if can lengthen the sleeves (tapering them in and the wrist) to make an autumn/winter top.

How Do I Know What Size I Am?

Choosing your pattern size is the most important step and we will help you determine this with these easy to follow steps.

  1. When taking your measurements ensure that you take them against your skin and not over clothing. One can wear a comfortable bra and knickers whilst measuring, as this will provide you with the most accurate measurements.
  2. Tape measure has to sit firmly around the points you are measuring. But be careful not to pull it too tight, as this will give you the incorrect size.
  3. When measuring circumferences (B, C, D, E) it is important to note that the tape measure must remain parallel to the floor. It is sometimes best to take the measurements in front of a mirror; this will help you see the angle of the tape measure.
  4. You will only require the basic body measurements to determine your pattern size which is indicated on our mannequin below:
A. Shoulder Breadth

Place the tape at the edge of the shoulder. Measure along the top of the shoulder blade/across the highest point of the shoulders to the other edge, following the natural slope and allow an extra finger for ease of any movement.

B. Upper Arm Girth

This point is taken as a circumference at your widest point of your upper arm.

C. Bust

This point is taken as a circumference parallel to the floor at the fullest part of your chest.

D. Waist

This point is taken as a circumference and taken at the smallest part of your waist.

E. Hip

This point is taken as a circumference parallel to the floor at the widest part of your hips.
