I have made three using this pattern – two of which are tartan. I can wear polo tops under and have made full loop scarves in matching fabric to keep out the british inter chill. Preparing to make design again in lighter summer fsbric

What a fabulous pattern. I made it in a tartan fleece (similar to Burberry style) and wore it with a polo neck and tights/boots. I am a size 16 and the fit was perfect. The only alterations I made was to make the hem straight rather than a drop back. I wore it once with the longer back and didn’t feel comfortable as I am only 5ft 2″. With the straight hem it is perfect. I did actually shorten the pattern pieces and the sleeves by a small amount. Next time I am going to lower the front neckline slightly to accommodate a cowl neck jumper and looking forward to making it in the summer in a soft cotton/linen with bare legs! The pattern design made it very easy to match the plaid pattern although it would have been easier to put the back on the fold.

Your pattern makers need to be congratulated on this pattern.
    The pattern just falls together.
I have made 2 dresses from this pattern one linen and the other cotton sateen – both very flattering and a delight to wear.
On the sateen fabric I removed the back seam to allow the full fabric design to be on display.

I was led to this pattern as I had been trying to find a Coco…and I have had it for some time but just recently got round to making it. Just love the look and it is so comfortable, cool and smart – very designer looking. I made mine in a b &w jungle print cotton. Very quick and easy to make too. Husband says I get ‘garment of the week’! More fabric on order to make another.

I LOVE my Adeline dress! I made a few adjustments for fit, but found the pattern easy to use, and the instructions quite clear. I’m not an expert sewist by any means, and this pattern was very do-able. Made it in a orange and white linen, and I plan to make several more.

Love this dress have made two now in linen. Love Style Arc patterns really good fit, at last I can cut a pattern out and know it’s going to fit without too much alteration.
Also so glad I didn’t have to print screeds of simple instructions as your patterns are really easy to follow for me.

Looks like a fun dress to wear. Coco was key in creating interest in this pattern for me. Thanks Coco! I do agree with some of these comments that the instructions are a bit too minimal. My being an experienced seamstress will help in the construction and I learned a lot of tips from Cocos Loft to facilitate my understanding of the pattern. Pattern prices have gone up enormously in the past 5-10 yrs, so it’s my belief the directions should still be at least as good as they’ve always been. A well fitting and quality garment is greatly benefited from the small details of well crafted construction.

I only give a 3 star rating as as yet I have not looked at or used the patterns they are stored in my files. I am excited to use them one day. I love the option given to print off our own patterns. A lot less storage needed in my sewing room for patterns.

My 19 year old made this, it was her first dress made pretty much completely on her own. The pieces went together well, turned out really cute. Didn’t give 5 stars because the instructions were REALLY basic, she would have struggled if I wasn’t able to walk her through it over the phone.

I have almost finished this dress today – I just have the sleeve cuffs to do. I have enjoyed making it as the pattern was easy to follow. I love the hem with the facings – it fit together perfectly. My V neck turned out beautifully – though that is, no doubt, because of the extremely helpful instructions from fashion-incubator.com, which I found from a link provided by Coco (of Coco’s Loft) in her review of the Adeline dress. I made it in a marled sand-coloured medium-weight 100% linen and since it has turned out so well I’ve decided to make another in a plain bright turquoise linen. I think the instructions take it for granted that the sewer/sewist has some knowledge, but, going by this experience, I should think I’ll be looking for further StyleArc patterns.

    I love this pattern.

Stylearc has acheived what other designers have not, combining comfort and style beautifully without making it look like a sack.

The hem details, vneck and pocket detail give this a stylish appearance.

I have made it from navy milled linen from TheFabricStore. I will definitely make this again.

How Do I Know What Size I Am?

Choosing your pattern size is the most important step and we will help you determine this with these easy to follow steps.

  1. When taking your measurements ensure that you take them against your skin and not over clothing. One can wear a comfortable bra and knickers whilst measuring, as this will provide you with the most accurate measurements.
  2. Tape measure has to sit firmly around the points you are measuring. But be careful not to pull it too tight, as this will give you the incorrect size.
  3. When measuring circumferences (B, C, D, E) it is important to note that the tape measure must remain parallel to the floor. It is sometimes best to take the measurements in front of a mirror; this will help you see the angle of the tape measure.
  4. You will only require the basic body measurements to determine your pattern size which is indicated on our mannequin below:
A. Shoulder Breadth

Place the tape at the edge of the shoulder. Measure along the top of the shoulder blade/across the highest point of the shoulders to the other edge, following the natural slope and allow an extra finger for ease of any movement.

B. Upper Arm Girth

This point is taken as a circumference at your widest point of your upper arm.

C. Bust

This point is taken as a circumference parallel to the floor at the fullest part of your chest.

D. Waist

This point is taken as a circumference and taken at the smallest part of your waist.

E. Hip

This point is taken as a circumference parallel to the floor at the widest part of your hips.
