Very current shape, easy pattern to sew, fit is good etc. my one gripe is that the pockets are very small, not even big enough for my phone…pockets are pretty much the reason I sew my own clothes, I need them to be big and functional! In all other ways, this is an excellent pattern, thanks StyleArc

Love the structure of this skirt. The A-line shape that tapers at the hem is giving architectural style to this easy-to-construct pattern.

Swift and easy make! This skirt has a unique shape due the sculptural darts at the hemline piece that attaches to the A-line skirt piece. I ordered pdf, traced, cut out, and constructed the whole project in less than six hours. Instructions and illustrations were great.

I really enjoyed making this skirt and loved the finished garment, however, it just didn’t suit me. I really really cant wear skirts 🙁

I made a wearable muslin from a knit fabric that stretched and grew in length. I shortened by a huge amount, and ended up with a nice skirt. I could tell that it’s a keeper. I’ll be making it again from knits (ones that don’t stretch so much) and from wovens (shortened as needed for my 5’1″ size).

I love the unusual shape of this skirt. It is quick and easy to put together. I have made two now – the first in a cotton fabric and the second in a thai silk. They both look great, although the silk one has a bit more structure and so makes the most of the shape.

This is a really cool skirt pattern. I chose it because lots of my skirts are way too girly, so I like the silhouette of this one with the tapered bottom third. It’s very useful if you find yourself wearing it on a windy day too, it doesn’t fly around so much as normal skirts. It’s really easy to sew. I love that it has pockets. I sewed it using a heavy herringbone linen and it looks great. Love an elastic waist too.

How Do I Know What Size I Am?

Choosing your pattern size is the most important step and we will help you determine this with these easy to follow steps.

  1. When taking your measurements ensure that you take them against your skin and not over clothing. One can wear a comfortable bra and knickers whilst measuring, as this will provide you with the most accurate measurements.
  2. Tape measure has to sit firmly around the points you are measuring. But be careful not to pull it too tight, as this will give you the incorrect size.
  3. When measuring circumferences (B, C, D, E) it is important to note that the tape measure must remain parallel to the floor. It is sometimes best to take the measurements in front of a mirror; this will help you see the angle of the tape measure.
  4. You will only require the basic body measurements to determine your pattern size which is indicated on our mannequin below:
A. Shoulder Breadth

Place the tape at the edge of the shoulder. Measure along the top of the shoulder blade/across the highest point of the shoulders to the other edge, following the natural slope and allow an extra finger for ease of any movement.

B. Upper Arm Girth

This point is taken as a circumference at your widest point of your upper arm.

C. Bust

This point is taken as a circumference parallel to the floor at the fullest part of your chest.

D. Waist

This point is taken as a circumference and taken at the smallest part of your waist.

E. Hip

This point is taken as a circumference parallel to the floor at the widest part of your hips.
