I have just made the Brooklyn Pants and really like the shape and fit. The pocket technique was a new one for me, but soon sorted it out and they are great. I put the waistband on separately, and threaded the elastic through. Finally I managed to use a twin needle for the first time, and this made a good job on the hems. Shall definitely make more pairs of these.

Easy construction, the fit was not right for me. I removed and inch from the rise and need to remove at least one more if I make them again. Nothing that exciting about these pants.

Love this pattern. Size 16 was true to size. Made them in black French terry knit and they fit perfectly. I took the advice of an earlier reviewer and put a backing on the pockets rather that stitching to the pants front. Sit well, and not so obvious that you have something in your pocket. I also made the waistband of slightly stratched double knit ribbing with the elastic inside, which eliminates gathering.

Goodness! Took me at least 15 minutes to find WHERE to make a review.
Anyway, made these pants up yesterday in a size 22. I am so impressed with this pattern. Made it up in a Spotlight Jaquard knit fabric – 78% polyester,15%rayon, 5% Metallic,2% Elastane, 300gsm. I can’t get over the fit. Perfect. I shortened the front rise and lengthened the back rise a little after learning how to do this just before making these. As I often found the crotch seam to be too lengthy on pants I’ve made . I now know how to measure and adjust if necesary.. Im 5’6″ and I hemmed them 3/4 of an inch. Perfect. Right amount of ease everywhere. It was so easy to make! Love the pocket method, so easy. Sits perfectly at my waist. I used a different method for doing the elastic waistband- I attached it to the pant, leaving a gap and threaded the elastic through, then closed the gap. So very comfy too! I will be definitely making more!

I am not going to buy any other casual pant in my life. I’ve made two, in stretch fabrics, and I’ve bougth some stretch jacquard fabric for a new one. Sizes are true, even in length, in my case. I hope to make many others “chándal” pant, as we call it in Spain

I made a 14 which I generally do with Style Arc patterns and found them to be a little too big.
I made them in a heavy weight ponte and maybe this fabric was just too heavy for this pattern. After some alterations they are now great.
I also tried a woven fabric just to see how the pattern would go, I went up a size and this just did not work out, this pattern definitely needs the ease of stretch, My advise is do not waste your time with woven fabrics for this one.
A very stylish pair of casual pants.

What a great fit!! Made 2 pair with Ralph Lauren sweat shirt fleece from Mood.
I couldn’t wait to make these, and was not disappointed. Visited my daughter in Massachusetts and they were very warm and comfy. She loved them too and ask for a pair in her size.
I added small button holes and ran a draw sting thru the casing in front of the elastic. Also decided to top stitch the side seam. (had to go out-of-order on the instructions)
Next pair, I think I will add grommets for a draw string.

I absolutely absolutely love these pants. I bought the size 12 so printed it off and made them up, they were a little large on me so gifted them to my daughter. I messaged Style Arc for advice on sizing down the pattern that I had printed to save printing again, had an instant reply with the formula, adjusted the pattern and they are really amazing. I made them in a Jeggings denim jersey and they look just like the tapered jeans that are in at the moment.
I made a facing for the pocket bag as I was a little worried about my top-stitching skills (for attaching pocket to pant front) It worked like a dream, These are my new favourite pants pattern, instructions are great. I’m a very happy camper. Thank you ladies.

How Do I Know What Size I Am?
Choosing your pattern size is the most important step and we will help you determine this with these easy to follow steps.
When taking your measurements ensure that you take them against your skin and not over clothing. One can wear a comfortable bra and knickers whilst measuring, as this will provide you with the most accurate measurements.
Tape measure has to sit firmly around the points you are measuring. But be careful not to pull it too tight, as this will give you the incorrect size.
When measuring circumferences (B, C, D, E) it is important to note that the tape measure must remain parallel to the floor. It is sometimes best to take the measurements in front of a mirror; this will help you see the angle of the tape measure.
You will only require the basic body measurements to determine your pattern size which is indicated on our mannequin below:
A. Shoulder Breadth
Place the tape at the edge of the shoulder. Measure along the top of the shoulder blade/across the highest point of the shoulders to the other edge, following the natural slope and allow an extra finger for ease of any movement.
B. Upper Arm Girth
This point is taken as a circumference at your widest point of your upper arm.
C. Bust
This point is taken as a circumference parallel to the floor at the fullest part of your chest.
D. Waist
This point is taken as a circumference and taken at the smallest part of your waist.
E. Hip
This point is taken as a circumference parallel to the floor at the widest part of your hips.
