This is an extension of your favourite denim dress and just as versatile. Slight shirt tail hem with side gusset, interesting placket front and pocket. Use a contrast fabric on the inside collar stand, under collar and cuff to give it an added interest.

Choosing your pattern size is the most important step and we will help you determine this with these easy to follow steps.
Place the tape at the edge of the shoulder. Measure along the top of the shoulder blade/across the highest point of the shoulders to the other edge, following the natural slope and allow an extra finger for ease of any movement.
This point is taken as a circumference at your widest point of your upper arm.
This point is taken as a circumference parallel to the floor at the fullest part of your chest.
This point is taken as a circumference and taken at the smallest part of your waist.
This point is taken as a circumference parallel to the floor at the widest part of your hips.

The Italia shirt dress gives a lovely result. I have made this in cotton chambray, cotton drill, and medium weight linen. I also made a sleeveless version in striped denim, with bias finished armholes. One of my favourite dress patterns

I made a denim chambray dress with my usual adjustments: full bust, round back and sway back. The fit and style are very flattering. It is well drafted, but as is typical with Style Arc, the instructions are scarce. As a very experienced sexist, I can work my way through without a problem. I love Style Arc’s designs. Keep them coming!

This is a nice pattern, but with little instructions as is typical for StyleArc. You kind of need to know what you’re doing already. I think the final garment turned out nicely, but I think if I was to make it again, I would make a few changes, including lengthening it (again – I already added my standard 2 inches as I’m 5’10”), grading out at the hip for a little more ease, and altering the front armscye (it binds a little there when I reach forward). All in all though, a lovely pattern.
