This is such a simple pattern to make, very quick and easy. I used a black french terry for my first and lengthened it by 5cm and also added cuffs to the sleeves to make them longer. My second top was made in a grey and white striped jersey and also made with cuffs to make the sleeves long and this time I added 10cm to the length.

Love this pattern, I have made 3 Rhea tops, 2 in viscose knit, 1 in a cotton knit. Pattern is well drafted, super quick and easy to sew up and drapes beautifully.
I made a size 12 which is my usual in Style Arc patterns but added 3″ to the length and 1 1/2″ to the sleeve length ( I am 5′ 7 1/2″ with long arms). On all 3 tops I turned the neck band to the inside and top stitched down, (I lengthened neck band slightly to allow for this).
This pattern has become a favourite, there will be more to come. Thank you.

I love this top! It looks so ready-to-wear. I made it using a simple heathered jersey fabric. I have a long torso, so I lengthened it by 1.5″ (standard for me in StyleArc) or my stomach would’ve shown. It goes together so fast and easy. I wasn’t sure about the seam down the front in the designs, but it definitely adds interest to the finished garment. The top has a lovely drape, even in a plain cotton/spandex jersey.

Well drafted, easy make in midweight jersey. My fabric had a big, bold print that I didn’t want to cut so I eliminated the front seam. I also lengthened the top by 7.5 cm (3″) and slimmed it down from bust to hem to it was closer fitting at the bottom. Will make another!

I have made this pattern four times. Twice as StyleArc promotes it, once with a polo neck and lengthened sleeves, which I am wearing as I type this, and finally as a dress! Oh my I love the dress it definitely won’t be a one off. Due to a shortage of fabric, a stretchy double knit, I needed to place a seam at hip level. Then to add interest to the back (the fabric is a plain purple tone) I worked a line of buttons, that don’t open, down to the hip level seam. The dress will not be a one off and more jumpers/tops are on my to do list. I agree with one or two of the other reviewers I sized down for my second top.

I loved this pattern. It’s so flowy and easy to make. I made the shirt twice. one in the suggested size and 1 size smaller. I love them both. If you like it oversized but nog the wide i would suggest size one down.

I made another today using Knit Polyester/Spandex (winter weight) with some alterations:
    – lengthen sleeve 5″
    – added a band to the wrist
    I love it.
When I lengthened the sleeve I did add depth 1/2″ under arm from the beginning of the curve to the wrist, which I am pleased I did otherwise it would have been too firm at the elbow, thus the need for wrist bands of 6″ turned over to make a 3″ band. Happy Happy.
As I have said before this is an quick and easy top to construct.

I used my new Coverhem machine for the first time using this pattern and wow it was so fast to construct this top.
I can definitely recommend this pattern.

How Do I Know What Size I Am?

Choosing your pattern size is the most important step and we will help you determine this with these easy to follow steps.

  1. When taking your measurements ensure that you take them against your skin and not over clothing. One can wear a comfortable bra and knickers whilst measuring, as this will provide you with the most accurate measurements.
  2. Tape measure has to sit firmly around the points you are measuring. But be careful not to pull it too tight, as this will give you the incorrect size.
  3. When measuring circumferences (B, C, D, E) it is important to note that the tape measure must remain parallel to the floor. It is sometimes best to take the measurements in front of a mirror; this will help you see the angle of the tape measure.
  4. You will only require the basic body measurements to determine your pattern size which is indicated on our mannequin below:
A. Shoulder Breadth

Place the tape at the edge of the shoulder. Measure along the top of the shoulder blade/across the highest point of the shoulders to the other edge, following the natural slope and allow an extra finger for ease of any movement.

B. Upper Arm Girth

This point is taken as a circumference at your widest point of your upper arm.

C. Bust

This point is taken as a circumference parallel to the floor at the fullest part of your chest.

D. Waist

This point is taken as a circumference and taken at the smallest part of your waist.

E. Hip

This point is taken as a circumference parallel to the floor at the widest part of your hips.
