Easy pattern to make – I lengthened the top a little because Im long in the torso and I like cover to the tops of my legs. Have made in both woven and knit and it works beautifully for both.
This will be a regular ‘go to’!

I just finished making a sample version of this in cheap quilting cotton to test the fit and I have to say this is a super cute pattern!! Even my mom liked it and she usually hates things that are intended to fit with a lot of positive ease. I never know if a style like this will look good on my body type, but because the shoulders and sleeves fit so well it’s so cute and very flattering, and I can’t wait to make it in some double gauze and some linen. I went down one size and might try going down another before using a more drape-y fabric, but my sample size fits so well I kind of want to wear it out in public, despite the fact it’s a very garish leopard print! Thanks for a super cute pattern Stylearc.

This pattern was exactly what I was looking for and made up as per pattern sketch.
I made shorter version in a Polyester/Linen look fabric as pictured. The pattern is a generous fit and I made size 8 with no adjustments. I am Petite – 156 cm. I have made both longer and shorter versions. I was happy with both versions.
Style Arc were most helpful with enquiry regarding emailing of different sizes as it as I was not able to just print one size only.

Quick and easy to make. I used a viscose fabric and it drapes wonderfully. I love the ruffles on the sleeves and high-low hem. Usually I make size 20 with the big 4 pattern houses, I made size UK 14 and think I could still go down a size. Great pattern, highly recommend.

I love this top, I’m just swishing all around the place.
I will make it smaller next time as it is a generous fit but still great.
    Very easy, great instructions.
Even piecing the downloaded pattern together wasn’t so bad.

The Selina top is right on trend. This is a very roomy top and I down sized for my second top and still had a loose fit. Very easy to wear – nice to be able to make what you are seeing in the shops.

Love this pattern. I made a 16, my usual size, but it came up large. The 14 was just right. I made my trial garment out of a duvet cover – but it’s so nice I’m going to wear it anyway. I’m going to have a play & make a v neck version, a no-frill version etc. A cracking pattern

I really like this top. It sewed up very quickly and fits me nicely.

My only potential issue (it may be I just missed it!) is nowhere in the instructions could I find where the sleeve bands seam is sewn together. The bottom bands have a different overlapping seam. It wasn’t hard to figure it out, lol but some beginners may wonder the order in which this step is done.

I will be making another one soon in a more Spring-like fabric.

How Do I Know What Size I Am?

Choosing your pattern size is the most important step and we will help you determine this with these easy to follow steps.

  1. When taking your measurements ensure that you take them against your skin and not over clothing. One can wear a comfortable bra and knickers whilst measuring, as this will provide you with the most accurate measurements.
  2. Tape measure has to sit firmly around the points you are measuring. But be careful not to pull it too tight, as this will give you the incorrect size.
  3. When measuring circumferences (B, C, D, E) it is important to note that the tape measure must remain parallel to the floor. It is sometimes best to take the measurements in front of a mirror; this will help you see the angle of the tape measure.
  4. You will only require the basic body measurements to determine your pattern size which is indicated on our mannequin below:
A. Shoulder Breadth

Place the tape at the edge of the shoulder. Measure along the top of the shoulder blade/across the highest point of the shoulders to the other edge, following the natural slope and allow an extra finger for ease of any movement.

B. Upper Arm Girth

This point is taken as a circumference at your widest point of your upper arm.

C. Bust

This point is taken as a circumference parallel to the floor at the fullest part of your chest.

D. Waist

This point is taken as a circumference and taken at the smallest part of your waist.

E. Hip

This point is taken as a circumference parallel to the floor at the widest part of your hips.
