This fashionable swing top looks great worn with your crop pants. The “V” neck and Interesting back yoke treatment adds interest and sets this apart from a basic top. Thank you Sharmaine for your designs!

I love this top, the fit is perfect and I have already made two of them. The first in some unknown fabric that was gifted by a friend a number of years ago, and the second in a cotton batik that I had in my stash. The instructions were minimal but adequate, I haven’t done any dressmaking for years but I had no problem with making the top and followed the tutorial for the double bind at the neckline as it was unfamiliar to me.

Not sure if this was the pattern, sizing or my fabric choice but I wasn’t happy with the neckline, it stood up and out at back. I am large busted, so perhaps I needed to go up a size. I also used a heavier cotton, this would do better in a lighter weight fabric. But the instructions were great and it was a really easy sew. A pity about the fit.

Really cute top! Came out looking very professionally done. The arm holes are a little big and my bra shows under my arms. I might try making it again and adjust the arm holes.

Beautiful top, fits like a glove. I’m petite and was still a little short just need another inch or two on hem. I used French seams on back and it just completed a very professional looking at top. I made a toile out of an old duvet and it’s so lovely I made it in to a pair of pjs. The cut and finish are very good. My only gripe is the lack of instructions but guess these patterns are more suitable for experienced sewers who know all techniques. I also bought the Harlow and again a lovely top.

How Do I Know What Size I Am?
Choosing your pattern size is the most important step and we will help you determine this with these easy to follow steps.
When taking your measurements ensure that you take them against your skin and not over clothing. One can wear a comfortable bra and knickers whilst measuring, as this will provide you with the most accurate measurements.
Tape measure has to sit firmly around the points you are measuring. But be careful not to pull it too tight, as this will give you the incorrect size.
When measuring circumferences (B, C, D, E) it is important to note that the tape measure must remain parallel to the floor. It is sometimes best to take the measurements in front of a mirror; this will help you see the angle of the tape measure.
You will only require the basic body measurements to determine your pattern size which is indicated on our mannequin below:
A. Shoulder Breadth
Place the tape at the edge of the shoulder. Measure along the top of the shoulder blade/across the highest point of the shoulders to the other edge, following the natural slope and allow an extra finger for ease of any movement.
B. Upper Arm Girth
This point is taken as a circumference at your widest point of your upper arm.
C. Bust
This point is taken as a circumference parallel to the floor at the fullest part of your chest.
D. Waist
This point is taken as a circumference and taken at the smallest part of your waist.
E. Hip
This point is taken as a circumference parallel to the floor at the widest part of your hips.
